9/22/11 – Winter Park FL Cops Harass Warlocks At Movie Screening
Movie-goers at a screening of a biker film at the Regal Winter Park Village 20 got a start Monday when police officers removed three members of a motorcycle club — reportedly the Warlocks — after someone reported that one of them was carrying a knife.
People watching “Machine Gun Preacher” said the lights went on at 8:10 p.m., shortly after the start of the film, and about half a dozen officers burst in carrying handguns and rifles, handcuffed the men and led them out.
Officers determined that nothing illegal had occurred, but the bikers were asked to leave anyway, said Sgt. Jon Askins, a police spokesman.
“Machine Gun Preacher” is about a biker who becomes a preacher, a missionary and then an African freedom fighter. The movie, in which Gerard Butler plays the lead, opens in theaters Sept. 30.
